Sophie Carter was born in 1972 and was lucky enough to grow up in Cornwall. She is strongly affected by the coastal light and space as well as the vast skies above the sea.  After a career in horticulture, Sophie has fulfilled her childhood dreams of becoming an artist and now paints full-time with tremendous success.

Her paintings offer an escape, a sense of beauty in the natural world around us.

Sophie uses mixed media to create her paintings; oil acrylic, ink and even crayon - whatever it takes to achieve the consistency and vibrancy she is searching for to complete each beautiful painting.
